All precious things, discover’d late,
To those that seek them issue forth;
For love in sequel works with fate,
And draws the veil from hidden worth.

The songs you grow up with blend with your soul and make you long for it no matter how old you become.Certain songs always stay in the favourite crannies of our mind and have the habit of resurfacing when you think deeply about the days bygone. I used to love this song very much along with its video.

This was a novel attempt by Malgudi Shubha in the field of Tamil pop music in the early 90s. I combed YouTube and Google Videos, but sadly,couldn't find the wonderful video.

The video features a young lady, played by the beautiful girl who used to act in Titan watches advertisement. She is an MBBS aspirant who falls in love with a guy who visits her village in a jeep. After a brief wooing period, her parents come to know of this guy. The usual family brawl follows, resulting in the guy going away in disappointment.

She joins an MBBS degree and becomes a doctor finally with an iron resolve. She gets reminded of her first love when the pressed flower given to her by her guy falls out of her book when she treats a little girl. The beautiful yet painful memories come flooding back to her. What I really love about the actor is the expression of her Victorian poise. (No elaborate sappy emotions or mega soap bawling here) Soon she becomes a successful doctor, who still thinks of her first love with profound longing. The guy turns up in the end and the album ends with the 'they lived happily ever after mood'. There is nothing extraordinary about this album. I guess the simplicity makes it very attractive.

Please drop a line in my comments box if you happen to find the album of this song.
